Woman in Florida Sentenced for Wire Fraud
ORLANDO, Fla.–A woman was sentenced on Tuesday to 33 months in federal prison for her involvement in an online wire fraud scheme.
Miruna Eugenia Lixandru, 33, was arrested in January and pleaded guilty in July.
She was accused of operating a counterfeit used vehicle website to swindle approximately $125,000 from victims. She then sent the money to her native country of Romania.
Lixandru was also ordered to pay back all the funds she stole and serve three additional years of supervised release.
