Four Men Arrested for Health Care Fraud
Four men in McAllen, TX have been arrested for health care fraud that allegedly amounted to over $7 million in fraudulent reimbursements.
The arrests consisted of 39-year-old Marcello Herrera, the owner of a durable medical goods supplier, and his wife Carla Cantu Herrara. Two other former employees were arrested as well.
Prosecutors allege that the company submitted false claims between 2004 and 2010 that amounted to $11 million and received over $7 million in reimbursement.
The company billings were for hospital wheelchairs, mattresses, beds and other goods. Allegedly, over eighty percent of the billings were not needed, delivered or prescribed.
