Auto theft suspect breaks free from police, leads officers on a chase before crashing

ouston – An auto theft suspect lead Houston police on a short chase Monday morning before crashing into a ditch.

An officer pulled over a stolen SUV with Mississippi plates around the 7500 block of Schuler near 1 a.m. on Monday.

While officers were handcuffing the suspects, one of them broke loose and jumped into the SUV.

The suspect lead the police on a short chase before crashing into the ditch on Persimmon at Magna.  The two suspects were then taken into custody.
